Xisen Tian
PhD Candidate | Naval Engineering Duty Officer

I’m a PhD student studying Applied Cryptography at Naval Postgraduate School under supervision of Dr. Britta Hale in the Applied Cryptologic Engineering Group. My research areas are in secure group communications, security for space systems, and post-quantum cryptography. Wanting to see my research go beyond academia, I am also an active member of the Internet Engineering Task Force and Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems, two organizations that produce standards for internet and space communications.
When I’m not being a professional student, I lead the Outdoors Club as the president. We hike, camp, forage, hunt, ski/snowboard, and kayak around central California.
